Holiday Events in the Northwest

Each and every year many events take place during this jolly time to commemorate the spirits of holiday cheer. Here are a handful of events taking place in the Northwest.

On the first Friday of December, The City of Camas will host and organize a holiday community event. Hometown Holidays includes the downtown tree lighting, photos with Santa, crafts, hayrides, caroling and music performances, hot cocoa, holiday shopping, and art shows! All activities will be free of charge. This is all happening on December 7th, 2018, from 5-9pm. The tree lighting is at 6:30 and there will be fireworks again. For more information, contact the City of Camas Parks and Rec at 360.834.5307.

Journey Theater’s youth production of Scrooge the Musical premieres on November 30th and runs through December 9th, 2018. This charming stage musical is an adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens tale, A Christmas Carol. The musical tells the timeless story of Ebenezer Scrooge as he’s visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet-To-Come. It is directed by Melissa Bareford and choreographed by Grace Thompson. They lead him through a fanciful journey as he comes to terms with his miserly ways and has a change of heart. Watch this story come to life through the hard work Journey Theater’s cast and crew this upcoming winter season.

Recognized throughout as the largest light show in the Northwest, Winter Wonderland will be hosting the track with its many lights for 26 years now. The annual Safeway Winter Wonderland, powered by Advantis Credit Union, starts November 23rd and runs through December 26. Over 250 colorful LED light displays and many fully animated scenes will be displayed and viewed from the comfort of one’s vehicle. More than two million visitors have taken the Winter Wonderland journey since its origin and have become a Holiday tradition for many families, friends, and social organizations to celebrate the spirit of the holiday season. Winter Wonderland starts from now and continues until the 26th of December, starting at 5:00 pm. All proceeds benefit the Sunshine Division’s food and clothing assistance programs.

The Golden Ticket Event in Downtown Camas starts on November 24th and runs through December 14th.
