Hoyt Arboretum – The Hoyt Arboretum is home to over 12 miles of hiking trails, 6,000 trees and located two miles west of Downtown Portland. Anytime during the year, there are always trees in blossom and a majestic scene.
Art Museum – The Portland Art Museum offers free nights the first Thursday of every month from 5-8 in the evening. A popular display from the month of February would be the Constructing Identity by the esteemed Petrucci Family Foundation Collection of African-American Art. It will be available for viewing until June.
Bookstore – Powell’s City of Books is home to a collection of books that will fuel any person’s will to read. The store is also supplied with odds, ends and knick knacks that will liven up any space. They also have a quaint area for snacking and drinking coffee.
Explore the Pearl – The Pearl District is the location for any individual craving culture or a spontaneous excursion. The Pearl District has plenty of activities that are sure to keep one busy. Whether it is window shopping, enjoying the street art or fine dining, the Pearl District is the place to go.
Rose Garden – The International Rose Garden offers free admission often and is open from 7:30-9:00. There are free public tours available daily at 1:00. The International Rose Garden is the optimal place for any outdoor event with breathtaking views and impressive flowers.
Saturday Market – Saturday market is an amazing place to venture out and experience. The Saturday market is a perfect combination of food trucks, entertainment, and odds and ends that one could not find anywhere else.
Public Art Hunting – Public art can be found around every corner turned. Anything from graffiti to murals can brighten a day. There is art dedicated to causes and people and are found to be extremely breathtaking.
Explore Old Chinatown – Chinatown is a perfect place to explore one’s cultural side. Food, shopping, and activities are as lively as could be on that side of town. Not to mention it is an ideal place to take pictures.
